Okay, so apparently a sendspace payed account isn't all it's cracked up to be. The folders are neat, but your uploading is disabled if your andwidth is exceded (Which means some pricks are spreading around my links, because my bandwidth was FINE.). And with only 5GB of it, it's easy to do.

So that little bitchiness leads to the question.

Which uploading/downloading server do you prefer?

Other...[Please explain]
Please, please, please give feedback :)
(Also keep in mind that while MediaFire appears glorious, it DOES cut off a lot of countries, has limited uploading ability, and is likely to collapse kinda soon.)

I'm seriously thinking about switching over to MegaUpload, just because the uploading is really decent, and the subscriptions are pretty cheap for the amount of time they last. However, I know it would keep a lot of people from downloading them, since so many are anti-MU (let's face it, "MU doesn't work for me!" is BULLSHIT, you just don't want to go through the retarded limits the site has. xD)

So. Vote, please ♥

I really prefer sendspace ^^ sometimes it's kinda bitchy, but i love the "my sendspace" site ^-^

A lot of sites have that feature, where you can browse/organize the files you've uploaded. But sendspace does do a good job with the organization part....

Thanks for the feedback :)

I have paid MU account and I love it so far. The files are permanent and I haven't had any occurrence where my file is deleted.

As for the limits that MU has, there are various methods to overcome it. One of it is Rapget. Not sure how efficient it is since I don't have any problem with MU but it is recommended by someone I know who has problem with MU.

Wow, I didn't realize the files were permanent. That's awesome.

And thanks so much for that program! I'm surprised this is the first time I've heard of it x)

I like Media fire the best. I know alot people have a problem with it, but the download is faster and, you dont have to wait to click 'download' :)

Hmm, MediaFire does have a great download rate. There are a couple servers that don't require you to wait for a download, though, like DivShare :} Thanks for your feedback ^^

I like Sendspace, it's less of a hassle (pop up wise) in my opinion. I'm fine with using either Sendspace or Megaupload. But my vote went with Sendspace since I already have a free account with them and I like the features even though it's not organized.

Hmm. There are a couple other sites that have the same features, and are pop-up free....and more payer-friendly. xD But I understand that SS is a familiar site, and widely used, I think that's why a lot of people stick with it. I'll take that into consideration, thanks<3

Even though I wouldn't say it's the best thing ever, I'd go for SS. MU is nice for uploads, but unless you have a paid account, it sucks for downloading. MF is nice too, but it has it's problems. The others are just way too annoying because of all the registering and such. So yeah, SS and MF for me.
28th-Jun-2007 11:20 am (UTC)
Well, you won't ever be seeing SS links from me again, anyway, since the site blocked me from them. xD The only really bad thing about MF, I guess, is that you can only upload in chunks of 100MB. That's not big at ALL. I've been trying to upload my new DVD, but I can't do it on MF at all for the single reason that I'd have to upload at least 200 different parts for it. (Just the intro alone, the smallest file of them all, was 6 parts. There's 22 different segments on the entire DVD.)

But I guess MF would be great for just uploading albums and such, as long as the file doesn't go over 100MB :)

Having a MU subscription is undescribable win, especially considering that almost all the big movie and drama-hosting comms and sites use it. 8D

I haven't really used other ones besides SendSpace and MegaUpload, but when I do use other ones I find that SendSpace (for people who don't have accoutns) keeps the links active the longest which is why I like it.

megaupload doesn't work in my country
and sendspace is almost always at full capacity

hmmmm im going to join your comm after this, but i wanted to do the poll first (i luv polls XDDDDDDDDD) and I say MF!!! I love MF, I hardly ever have a problem with it. The links stay alive, which is an important thing to uploaders, since it means you dont have to worry about reuploading it (unless someone cant use MF. I've only seen one person say they cant use it though...) a lot of people claim to have probolems with MU, which is one of the reasons i decided to switch to MF on my own site...

I noticed in the comments someone mentioned sendspace being better pop-up wise but i disagree. I've gotten pop-ups from sendspace before. maybe im special?? XDDDDDDDD also, someone said sendspace links for people who dont have the account last longer, but definitely not.

But anyways, use the one you want to use. All uploading sites have good points and bad points. (MF, no uploading more than 100 mb at a time; MU, no downloading more than... i forget how much but it isnt a lot, for every... 3 hours i think??) Sorry for rambling though >.>

Thanks for joining! 8D

Everyone seems to love MediaFire. xD I don't blame them. I'm just scared to host all my files there because they've been having a lot of technical difficulties lately...files are just disappearing, links are just dying with no apparent reason. D: And I know I'd be ticked if I had hundreds of files on it and that happened. (That's pretty much what happened on SendSpace, only THAT was the site's admin being asses.)

I got pop-ups on SS, too. It might also depend on what browser you use. :P

And MU only has that limit if you don't have a paid account. I have one, and I must say, it's totally worth the money o__o I can download whatever I want all day, no waiting, multiple simultaneous downloads, and my files last foreverrrrr. xD But I understand that not a lot of people can just go buying an account like that, so that's why I don't use it as my primary server. That limit is so frustrating when you REALLY want to download something. x__x
